The artist Shona Lenaghan enjoys living and working in the Scottish Borders. The landscape and people that surround her provides her with a constant source of imagery. Her images are captured either by camera or on the spot sketches which are later developed into paintings. Her paintings are exhibited in many Scottish Galleries and are part of private collections both in the UK and abroad.

Character Paintings
The best character paintings are produced by having good background research. In the case of the painting for Joanne and Neil Gilfillan, the bride's sister provided excellent stories, photographs and detailed information. All working towards producing a more pleasing and personal end result.

The popularity of paintings by William Lees
Paintings by my father, William Lees, are receiving much attention. His work features landscapes of the south east coast of Scotland. His paintings of Dunbar, in particular, are proving very popular. His most recent subject was a large portrait showing a local Dunbar businessman at work. The unveiling of 'Umberto' received a very emotional response by his family. William Lees can be contacted by telephoning 01896755632.
